So I don’t often post pics of my post-physical prime self but when I’m lying on the North Atlantic next to a seal…being heckled by my coworkers with a chopper in the background…I figured why not. I have a pretty cool job…if you get a chance…hit stopthesealhunt.org to check out some of my other handy work…kinda gruesome, but leaves no doubt in my mind that these poor creatures suffer…

Guided By Voices “Quality of Armor” Heard in Canadian Nissan Versa Ad.

Ah, ok, now I’m not just yelling “sell out!” here…I’m simply pointing something out that I caught while I was in PEI this past week…A few years back I heard a Modest Mouse tune in a Nissan ad for a minivan…and I became deeply troubled…as the ad was targeted squarely at me…like ‘oh hey…those Nissan guys get me…they know what I’m about, where my head is at and that if I have to buy a minivan like my neighbors the Joneses, that I’m going to push my wife to buy the one w/the cool music in the ad…” Ah,…I like to think of myself as more enlightened that this…but the whole thing brings to mind the Neil Young tune…”This Notes for You”…I believe the lyric is…”Ain’t singin’ for Pepsi, ain’t signing for Coke…Makes me look like a joke…”. Now the use of the GBV tune is slight…and does add to the aesthetic of the creative…and I want Bob to keep making music…and he’s clearly never been about the money…so I’m just going to turn my attention somewhere else…
