Bouv’s Apple Tablet Round Up – Why the Splashy Color Invite?

[Apple's invite image for 1.27.10 ] In just over a week, on January 27th at 1PM EST at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco to be exact, Apple may end literally years of speculation surrounding their creation of a tablet-style consumer device. Will it be a full-fledged computer? An e-Book reader? A giant iPhone with video conference capabilities? I have some thoughts…

Microsloth Leading the Sheep to the Slaughter – “Look, we have stores too!”

Microsloth, in yet another un-original move, has opened their own retail presence.

Congratulations, that’s 1000 stolen business plans! Most people who inhabit the spaces that will contain the stores may become confused when they purchase their computer from a Microsoft store, and then accidentally wander into an Apple store looking for support…oh well…

Apple + iTunes + The Beatles – Finally!

9 to 5 Mac is reporting that Apple will finally offer The Beatles catalog through the iTunes music store.

PRE PALM PRE: “Let’s keep the momentum going boys…”

Ok, so believe it or not…there were smartphones before the iPhone…in fact, PALM had made quite a few of them…prior to my owning an iPhone, I owned no less than 4 Palm devices…2 of which were smartphones…the Treo 600 and the 650…both of which were handy devices…in fact, for note taking, IMHO, they were better devices than my iPhone…which I still can’t import those notes into w/out a mod…that said…the iPhone blows the Treo away on almost all other counts…as soon as APPL made their phone available…and I managed to get my hands on one…I sold both the iPod and the Treo…because I was sick of having to carry around mulitple devices…

Apple Dumps MacWorld: Feh.

In this weeks MacWorld newsletter…longtime editor Jason Snell waxes on re: Apple’s decision to dump MacWorld Expo.

Most of his points follow the common thinking…

1. The announcement may have been a cover for SJ’s ailing health.
2. Apple is sick of having to pull the curtain off of new products along IDG’s schedule.
3. Apple Stores are like Mini-MacWorld show floors.

Apple: Creative Pro: WISDOM.

The Apple marketing team does a very nice job with the case studies, this latest one…on a documentary focusing on life lessons called Wisdom by director Andrew Zuckerman dovetails nicely into the Apple milieu. Check out the videos…

Netflix & Samsung: HD DVD and Nflix On Demand

NAB 365 is reporting that Netflix and Samsung have strucka deal to create an HD DVD player that also gives you direct access to the On Demand Netflix library…ah…can anyone say AppleTV? I can…and I’d like to point to the post where I said it about a year ago…but I have to dig it up…but I’m telling you I already told you!

Happy SJ Keynote Day!

Ok, so this is the first keynote in like 5 that they’re going to stream live… in QT,
http://www.apple.com
this may portend nothing…but it is interesting…if you were on WiFi w/the iPhone, you should be able to watch it live on the phone…which would be very cool…if nothing else.
