MediaBistro noted the Hollywood Reporter’s article saying that Mad Men writer/creator Matthew Weiner has signed on for a 2 year deal to continue producing his hit series with the Lionsgate team. I’m happy to hear it…however…
For me, last season was by far the weaker of the first two…plagued by lack of plot closure or significant historical tie ins like we had w/the Kodak Carousel segment in the “Wheel” episode…and a meandering Don Draper who wound up as if in an early sixties draft of Penthouse Letters…”Today I left my co-worker while on business in Califorina and hopped into a car w/a woman I just met…” blah blah…
Let’s hope Mr. Weiner finds his stride on the substance out of the gate on this next season…
